Whilst the Government have made much of the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions across the whole licensed sector, recent experience has shown that there are still expectations on operators.

It is unclear which of these expectations fall into the province of guidance and which have legal implications for non-compliance.

We are aware of local authority officers visiting bars and making comment that they still expect operators to comply with Covid-19 measures at the risk of prosecution under health and safety law.  To our clients this feels like enforcement by stealth.

Prepare yourselves.  See the Government guidance.  Conduct and record a risk assessment.
